Abstract
Introduction: The Faculty of Food Engineering (FEA) at UNICAMP, faced challenges in the management of chemical waste. Manual routines, the need for multiple checks and work overload led to inefficiency, errors and slowness in the process. To solve these problems, CGR developed an automated management system. This tool has enabled complete control of the supply of collection containers and their identification by unique codes, simplifying the receiving stage, facilitating data collection and eliminating the need for constant manual checks. Objective: The implementation of a system for chemical waste management at the FEA, which promotes a reduction in the time spent on manual tasks and greater agility in meeting demands, a reduction in human error and greater control over the process, the automatic organization of waste inventories and faster resolution of problems. Methodology: The automations created are built in three layers. Results: The results are shown in the image sequences below, which illustrate the system's operational interfaces and the human-machine interface built for interaction with users. Conclusion: This work presents the efficient implementation of an automated management system that allows absolute control of all the critical stages in the management process of controlling and monitoring the activities of providing containers and collecting the chemical waste generated by the FEA's research and teaching laboratories.
