Abstract

Introduction:  Insalubrious activities are classified into three levels according to Regulatory Standard 15 and the Consolidation of Labor Laws, which ensure a safe and appropriate work environment for pregnant employees, preventing exposure to harmful agents. Objective: To evaluate the impact of integrating pregnant employees removed from hazardous activities on the results of quality management, safety, education, scientific production, and personnel development within the Physical Therapy Service of the Hospital de Clínicas UNICAMP. Method: This is a report of a successful experience in restructuring the Physical Therapy Service to accommodate and develop management practices for pregnant employees removed from hazardous activities in care units. Results: Between 2019 and 2024, 26 Standard Operating Protocols were developed, 3 strategic training sessions were offered, and 8 clinical case discussions were held with the multidisciplinary team of the Adult Intensive Care Unit, in addition to participation in events and conferences with the presentation of 13 papers, among other activities. Conclusion: The implemented actions improved management through indicators and optimized processes, aligning with the hospital's strategic objectives. The Lean Healthcare methodology was crucial in identifying improvements and ensuring a safe work environment. The restructuring not only met legal requirements but also fostered the development of administrative skills among pregnant employees, contributing to the efficiency and quality of the service provided. Thus, the Physical Therapy Service reinforced its commitment to the health of its staff and organizational well-being.
