Abstract

This article is an experience report about training in first aid performed in the Childhood Education Division And Supplementary in State University Of Campinas, whose purpose was to train teachers and staff to provide immediate care to children victims of accidents or sudden emergencies, by implementing first aid measures and procedures until the arrival of more qualified assistance and establish a formal training program, establishing simultaneously an integrated service plan with the local Emergency Medical System. The training resulted in a total of 84 hours spread in 28 days, with the participation of 14 groups with a total of 150-trained professionals. At the end of training, the professionals did an evaluation of training and 52.17% reported that they already had previous knowledge, 97.82% said that the contents of the course will contribute to their professional practice and wish to deepen them. It is concluded that few professionals had previous knowledge about first aid, emphasizing that there is interest and satisfaction in the acquisition of this knowledge, considering also that they need to deepen the issue in emergencies in the school environment in their professional practice.
