Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the scope and limits of the (re)construction of the Marxist theory of social classes undertaken by several authors of the Analytical Marxism current. These works are based on the use of non-Marxist methodological tools, especially social stratification and methodological individualism. We discuss mainly the works of Erik O. Wright, John Roemer and G. A. Cohen in order to extract an Analytical Marxist position on social classes.
