José Carlos Mariátegui: formation, context and influence of thought

Abstract

Carrying out an overview of the most relevant aspects of the very rich and multifaceted work of José Carlos Mariátegui (hereinafter JCM): this is an enormous challenge for contemporary critical and revolutionary thought. The (re)elaboration of the breadth of subjects addressed by the Peruvian Marxist, combined with biographical, intellectual and reception aspects, can promote intriguing results in relation to each of the facets that give JCM a preponderant place in the contemporary history of Latin America.
