Abstract
The article discusses the recurring project of founding a spinozan marxism, understood to be an effort to absorb some of the contributions of the philosopher B. Spinoza into a marxist categorical frame. However, unlike certain more visible defensors of this project, such as A. Negri and G. Deleuze, genuine existent discontinuities are pointed out between Marx's and Spinoza's thought. Special emphasis was placed on Marx's criticism of a certain type of naturalism, and as regards Spinoza, on his instigating controversy around the concept of teleology. We understand that, having travelled this path, the conditions are then in place to discuss the possibilities of a theory of emergence (of which a definition was also explained), the contemporary background of this problem.
