Trotsky's Transitional Program and America

Abstract

The last lines of the Transition Program read: "Périgny (France), September 3, 1938". Almost seventy years have passed since that date, when the Fourth International was founded. As we previously explained in this same magazine, despite more than half a century having passed, we think that this program has never been understood, in all its theoretical depth, by the Trotskyists themselves.
