More (or less) globalization

Abstract

Much has been written about globalization in recent times. It is not my intention to add anything more to this literature, but merely to place the topic in the context of my personal vision of the history of capitalism. Globalization is not a condition or phenomenon: it is a process that has been occurring for a long period; strictly speaking, since capitalism came into the world - four or five centuries ago - as a viable form of society.
