Herbert Marcuse : one hundred years

Abstract

Herbert Marcuse, a philosopher whose popularity went far beyond academic circles in the 60s and 70s, has been almost forgotten in Brazil, with the usual infallible exceptions. As expected, he returned to the pages of the culture sections of the mainstream press on the occasion of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of May 68, which coincided with the centenary of his birth.
