Abstract

Nelson Werneck Sodré died on January 13, 1999, in Itu, a historic city in São Paulo state, where he was bound by memories of an old soldier, as well as strong family ties. Some leave behind important works, others leave behind examples of strength of character. Sodré left behind both.
