Abstract

The reissue of this book by Antonio Carlos Mazzeo, in a courageous and commendable initiative by Cortez Editora, is very welcome, even to highlight once again the current lack of debate on the origin and nature of Brazilian social formation. And this is precisely at the moment when the clerics of the always same ruling classes of the new liberal order, are preparing for the spectacle of exaltation at the beginning of the sixth century of a nation that never came to be as such.
