Abstract
The German unification process officially ended in October 1990, with the disappearance of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), constituting, if not one of the most important events at the end of the century, in any case the most publicized by the media. In November 1989, all the television stations in the world rushed to Berlin to broadcast the fall of the wall that separated the eastern and western parts of the city.
