Dialectic as method and philosophy in the late Engels

Abstract

Among the many misconceptions spread by Perry Anderson's book, Considerations on Western Marxism, one, the accusation that this movement transformed Marxism into an extensive and complex Discourse on Method, acquired, over time, the status of a place- common, therefore, indisputable truth. Western Marxism would have, through an unprecedented and unusual operation, shifted the center of interest of the Marxist tradition from economic and political themes to philosophical subjects, returning to the strain of bourgeois culture.
