Abstract
The book A map of the left in Western Europe, organized by Perry Anderson and Patrick Camiller, originated from essays published in the New Left Review by authors from different countries, whose common objective was to debate how the European left has faced the challenges posed by the strategy monetarist-neoliberal in the eighties/nineties and what are the specific limits of their political projects.
