Abstract
Rosa Luxemburg, uncompromising defender of democracy as a universal value - this is the frequently presented image of this Polish Jewish revolutionary at the beginning of the century who managed to gather surprising unanimity around her heritage, both for and against. One-sided interpretations of her ideas made her the object of admiration from liberals and social democrats as well as communists.
