Engels free course: life and work

Abstract

The demonstrations on the occasion of the second centenary of Friedrich Engels' birth that took place in 2020 were marked by a set of publications and events dedicated to him and his extensive work and express, compared to the centenary of his death in 1995, the strengthening and consolidation of Marxist studies in Brazil. We can say that Engels' free course: life and work is yet another example of this strengthening that has been occurring in Marxist studies in Brazil. The book now reviewed is a collection that brings together five contributions presented on the occasion of the “Marx-Engels Free Course: 200 years of Engels”, organized by Boitempo with support from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
