Abstract
Fredric Jameson died on September 22, 2024, at his home in Connecticut, USA, at the age of 90. A member of the International Council of Marxist Criticism, his article “Reification and Utopia in Mass Culture” appeared in the first issue of the journal in 1994. A prolific writer and teacher, he continued to teach and write at the time of his death. A professor in the Department of Literature at Duke University in North Carolina, his course “Aesthetics – from Kant to Barthes” was planned for the fall of 2024.
