Abstract
Intrudction: The development of preservation strategies for collections that constitute the cultural heritage of Brazil has been gaining a new shape since the middle of the first decade of the 2000s. Objective: The research aimed to identify Brazilian cultural heritage institutions that make use of the Archivematica technological solution for preservation repositories. Methodology: The status of the use of the tool was analyzed through a mapping of the Brazilian initiatives known by the archival community of the Cariniana network, with the application of a questionnaire addressing technical definitions (installation), preservation planning policies and management of microservices guided by the OAIS model and its use in institutional collections. The research observed that the universe of institutions that use Archivematica in Brazil still does not have significant statistics and that not all of them are at the same level of application of the tool. Results: There was a need for those responsible for management to be minimally familiar with the models of functional and information entities described in the OAIS model. Conclusion: Considering the limitations found, the data collected serve to reflect on the use of Archivematica in Brazil, as well as for possible indications of regulations that guide institutions regarding the best practices for applying the tool.
