Abstract

Anti-naturalist authors, who intend to encapsulate Marxism within the scope of intersubjective relations, seek to disqualify Engels' original and decisive contribution to the dialectics of nature. Nevertheless, some of the most eminent contemporary scientists and thinkers have recognized the extraordinary importance of his evolutionary explanation of man's self-production through the thesis that the hand is not only the organ of labor, but also the product of it. We also discuss the critical assimilation of Darwinism by the evolutionary thought of Engels and Marx.
