Abstract

The year 2015 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the book Pour Marx by Louis Althusser and, finally, Portuguese-speaking countries have a translation of the quality that this work deserves. When Althusser launched this book in France, he certainly did not expect that in a short space of time his innovative reading of Marx's work would have an enormous worldwide repercussion, going beyond French borders.
