Abstract

The article analyzes the use of Gramsci’s work by the Italian Communist Party (in Italian: PCI), especially with regard to the concept of heg emony present in the Prison Notebooks and the formulation of the road to socialism. The author concludes that PCI’s political line that aims to constitute the historical compromise and deny Leninism is in complete disagreement with Gramsci’s analysis, which bases his theory of hegemony on the leninist problematic of the dictatorship of the proletariat.
