Abstract

The article praises Nancy Fraser's thought-provoking reflection on capitalism, but it argues that the author overestimates her novelties - the “hidden abodes” of social reproduction, the state, ecology and racialization - and underestimates the terrain of social relations of production and the struggles linked to its control, in the field of economics, politics, and ideology, which have always been privileged in Marxism’s explanation of historical change.
