Abstract

The modest appearance of this work (a pocket book with just over 100 pages, including photographs, bibliography and chronology of the Chinese leader's life) should not lead the reader to mistake its scope: Márcio Naves' essay is not just a political biography of Mao Tse-tung, not just an analysis of the Chinese revolution; it is, above all, an important contribution to studies dedicated to socialism, supported by the examination of the Chinese experience and Mao's Marxism
