Abstract
Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali is not exactly a radical. Yet in his recently released book Unvanquished: a U.S.-U.N. Saga (New York, Random House, 1999), the former UN Secretary and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, is incisive when analyzing the contemporary policies of the United States of America, whose government endeavored to hinder Ghali's reappointment to the position he held at the UN. For him, Clinton's United States imposes a chaotic, incoherent, unpredictable and, ultimately, dangerous policy on the rest of the world. Madeleine Albright, Secretary of State, current champion of humanitarianism and former United States ambassador to the UN, is described in the book as impulsive, vindictive, insecure and arrogant.
