Abstract
On the first day of 1994, we were surprised by the insurrectionary uprising in Chiapas, the first armed confrontation within the "new world order". From that moment on, we drew attention to the fact that Zapatismo did not fit into conventional taxonomies of armed struggle. On the contrary, it inaugurated a new category of confrontation with very specific characteristics that are now reaffirmed by the Peruvian guerrillas of the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA).
