Abstract
Seven studies make up the book by Décio Saes that inaugurated the Trajetória Collection of IFCH/Unicamp. Four of them, "The concept of the bourgeois State", "The left and the question of forms of government in the bourgeois-democratic State", "Bourgeois democracy and the proletarian struggle" and "Socialism and democracy", are explicitly centered on the theme announced in the title. Two, "Coronelismo and the bourgeois State: elements for a reinterpretation" and "Monarchy and capitalism", are also devoted to the central theme, although they examine differential political forms of the bourgeois State and one examines "two distinct conceptions of the State" in Marx's work, that of the writings of 184344 and that which would be consolidated in the period 1948-52.
