Abstract
In the first essay of Three Studies on Hegel, Theodor Adorno argues with those who wonder what is "alive" and what is "dead" in the work of a great thinker. Adorno criticized the pretense of judgment, as if those who lived later could rise to the position of arbitrator. He also noted the absence of the opposite question: what does the present mean in relation to the past? This is one of the challenges faced by the authors of Marx 200 Years.
