Note of regret

Abstract

Crítica Marxista nº 59 will be the first edition in many years not to feature the invaluable collaboration of Ligia Maria Osorio Silva. Accustomed since nº. 34 in 2012 to her affable countenance, her sweet smile, her intelligent and cultured observations, and her rigorous work, we, the other members of this Editorial Committee, are left with a sense of longing and a great void... A retired professor from the Institute of Economics at Unicamp, where she worked for over fifty years, Ligia Osorio had a wide range of scientific interests, as well as a firm and combative stance in defense of socialism. With an academic background in Social Sciences, it was the topics of economic history, however, especially those related to agrarian issues, that most mobilized her.
