Abstract
This article addresses the challenges in constructing indicators for the promotion of decent work in Brazil within the context of the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. Having established the context of this international commitment, it explores some of the obstacles identified in the literature for measuring the Agenda. To this end, it reflects on the suitability of national and subnational indicators to the multidimensional nature of decent work. It also considers the limitations represented by the absence of qualitative indicators and the potential of official Brazilian public statistics.
