Abstract

Presentation of the Ruris magazine dossier vol. 6, no. 2. In this edition, selected articles are presented that address the relationship between the State and rural populations in Latin America. The works were born from ideas that emerged during the Symposium “Dialogues on the State and the control of rural populations in Latin America and the Caribbean”, which took place at the University of Vienna, Austria, in July 2012, within the framework of the 54th International Congress of Americanists.
