A look at the landscape through the window

Abstract

In this article we show a line of artistic work from the point of view of environmental awareness and sustainability, through the field of pictorial research. In this sense, we present a series of works with a background of environmental criticism, exposing the landscape from the background, from an artificial and human perspective, highlighting strong changes between the natural and unnatural through resources such as the wall or the window. Regarding this resource, the window, we make a brief analysis of some of the artists who have worked it, artists such as: Andrew Wyeth, David Hockney, Antonio López, Manuel Avellaneda, among others. In the pictorial and compositional research numerous rhetorical figures appear that interpose a constant conceptual and plastic dialogue. The mentioned work has been exhibited in two individual exhibitions, publishing a catalog with the work. Among other objectives, the main one of this article is to show some more significant reactions of the viewer to some of the creations. As a result, it is shown that, among the diversity of visitors, interesting reactions are observed that we interpret as obvious reflections that lead to an approach to the initial concept that arises, the transformation of the landscape represented through painting.
