Abstract
Mebs/Caraxia (1970–1971) is a 33-rpm vinyl record, limited to 500 copies and produced by the author. The concept of this record, recorded using a frequency oscillator, was to create sound sculptures—that is, to project a spatial image through auditory perception. On one side of the vinyl, the band MEBS represents the sound graph of the Möbius strip, while the other side, CARAXIA, refers to making a spiral audible. In 1981, Rodolfo Caesar and Tim (Luiz Augusto) Rescala performed an excerpt of Caraxia at the Sidney Miller Hall, Funarte, in Rio de Janeiro.
