Resumo
A partir das fórmulas de tratados do século XVII, da revisão das mais recentes publicações científicas disponíveis e de experiência empírica, tentou-se criar, com materiais atuais, uma tinta artística com branco de chumbo capaz de produzir efeitos semelhantes aos vistos nos empastes das pinturas de Rembrandt. Notou-se que as tintas a óleo do século XVII apresentavam formulações complexas e distintas das tintas modernas, e que a produção artesanal de tintas a óleo no passado proporcionava possibilidades pictóricas diferentes. Este artigo demonstra o processo de produção desta tinta e propõe a discussão se estas fórmulas antigas podem trazer novas possibilidades aos artistas contemporâneos.
