Abstract

This research proposes an approach to different French alternative urban spaces from an LGTB perspective. The data collection was made from semi-structured interviews with different managers of cultural spaces and young film directors. We also used analysis of known data from participant observation. This work is based on a personal experience carried out in Paris between 2018 and 2019. Within two years, we have detected a significant change in the situation regarding the visibility and perception of sexual diversity in France. All this taking into account the social and media impact of the revolt of the Gilets Jaunes (yellow vests). One of the most followed voices of the Gilets Jaunes movement is Édouard Louis, a young writer well known for his novels and works on gay themes.
