From the bottom of the sea, crawling on the land: the living entanglements of the "Witch"

Abstract

A network formed between artists and residents of the Z-10 Colony - Rio de Janeiro, the first fishing colony in Brazil, emerged during the artistic laboratory of the Sensitive Territories project, which proposes attention to the cultivation of relationships as an effective process of artistic action. The work-in-process, named "Witch", inhabited and learned from the environment, investigated where and how the life of its residents is processed, as well as shared the inscription of the world of that place, a sum to make body, movement and multiple listening of the experience of being a resident and fisherman in that territory. The construction of the network became a guide for the development of artistic processes with that territory and composed the object of performance and research methodology. A network of people, images and sounds together with the materiality of the fishing net.
