Abstract
This document presents the Portuguese version of the Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS) – Guide for Journals, which translates the requirements of the original standard into the context of individual scholarly journals, as the primary DOAS framework is aimed at publishers and service providers. The guide adapts these criteria to support editorial bodies in aligning their journals with the standard's principles, facilitating practical implementation, promoting transparency and quality in editorial processes, complementing existing evaluation tools, and assisting in the preparation for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Derived from the DIAMAS project, the guide is based on a shared quality framework covering seven core components: funding; legal ownership, mission, and governance; Open Science; editorial management, quality, and research integrity; technical service efficiency; visibility, communication, and impact; and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), multilingualism, and gender equity.
