Resumo
Esta comunicação investiga a formação das coleções do Sacro Império no século XVI e a chegada de peças e espécimes das Américas à corte dos Habsburgo. Utiliza-se como fonte as cedulas de Paso (1560-1612) do Arquivo Geral de Simancas e obras da corte que usaram animais e objetos da coleção imperial. A pesquisa discute os principais atores, como artistas e mercadores, envolvidos na transferência desses itens da América para o Império. Busca-se entender os contatos intercontinentais, a coleção criada e seu impacto na construção da alteridade em relação ao continente americano e sua natureza.
