Resumo
A alteridade se constrói em múltiplos campos, sendo um deles as relações entre uma cultura e seu ambiente. O espaço geográfico tinha papel relevante na retórica grega em relação à identidade persa, e inseridos na ideia de ambiente estão também os animais. Partindo de uma concepção ecocrítica, que vê a História da Arte como terreno fértil para discussões que não se cerceiam ao humano, o presente artigo pretende explorar a riqueza da representação artística animal como fonte para a compreensão dos pressupostos centrais da alteridade greco-persa, pela perspectiva persa Aquemênida e a partir análise dos relevos de delegações que levam camelos como presente ao rei na Apadana, em Persépolis.
