Abstract
Marx's Ecology is one of the seminal works of ecosocialism—a theoretical-political movement that first emerged in the 1980s—and has received increasing attention in recent years. Originally published in 2000, it documents the research that economist and political scientist John Bellamy Foster used to lay the foundations for what he calls the "second stage" of ecosocialism—a period in the intellectual production of this movement marked by the recognition that the social thought of Marx and Engels already contained a central ecological dimension with a broader critical reach than the various "green theories" available.
