Abstract
The news of the reissue of Décio Saes's República do Capital (2001) would be excellent in itself for those interested in understanding Brazil's political history. Even more so when enriched by articles not included in the original edition, which allowed for an important organization into thematic blocks: 1) the bourgeois revolution in Brazil; 2) an assessment of the impacts of the bourgeois revolution in Brazil; 3) classes and class conflicts in the long history of Brazilian politics (1889-1989); 4) the transition from a democratic regime in the 1980s to neoliberal politics in the 1990s.
