Abstract
The political and economic transformations of recent decades have brought about expanded access to goods and services, but have also intensified social inequalities. The UN’s 2030 Agenda emerged as an attempt to reorient development policies through a multidimensional approach (economic, social,
environmental, and political aspects), aiming to build more just and sustainable societies, with Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG 10—Reduced Inequalities) as a central pillar. However, the effectiveness of this commitment depends not only on the adherence of governments and institutions
but also on mechanisms for measuring and monitoring actions. This study establishes a connection between the targets of SDG 10, the rights enshrined in Article 5 of the 1988 Brazilian Constitution, and the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, highlighting convergences and pointing to possibilities for theoretical and methodological analysis, especially with regard to the study of social inequalities in the Brazilian context.
