Resumo
Este artigo analisa as medidas adotadas pelo Partido Comunista da China e o Conselho de Estado para modernizar a indústria da carne de porco na China, um dos alimentos mais consumidos no país. Nos últimos dez anos, marcas próprias de carne de porco se consolidaram graças a incentivos estatais. A metodologia utilizada foi documental e focou a industrialização da carne visa estabilizar a oferta interna e reduzir a necessidade de importações, pois a China possui um dos maiores rebanhos de porcos do mundo. O estudo considera que o avanço da suinocultura tem sido crucial para a China enfrentar desafios para a segurança alimentar e se inserir no mercado internacional. Os resultados principais incluem, do lado público, a regulação de preços via políticas de estoque e incentivos fiscais para pequenas e médias empresas agroindustriais; e, do lado privado, o esforço para aumentar as taxas de abate e processamento, além da adoção de novas tecnologias. No entanto, esse conjunto de medidas ainda não garantiu estabilidade em rentabilidade, preços e acesso para os consumidores na maior nação exportadora de carne de porco.
