Abstract
This essay aims to scrutinize the existing dialogue between the Arts and the field of Social Sciences, taking as its basis for discussion the literary novel Riacho Doce by José Lins do Rego (2021), with the aim of demonstrating how the sensitivity of the plot provides an in-depth reading of the social relations that guide the ways of being and knowing how to do things of sea fishermen. In order to deepen our interpretation of the work, we used as a base of support some concepts mobilized by researchers in the field of Social Sciences, with the interest of bringing together their threads of discussion.
