Abstract
This introduction to the dossier invites readers to think ethnography from friction, understood not as an obstacle but as the material and creative condition of encounters between worlds. Drawing on so-called “ontological experiments,” the collected texts propose inhabiting ontological conflicts without foreclosing them, sustaining their political and relational force in the face of unequal forms of worlding inherited from colonialism and extractivism. The dossier brings together situated ethnographies that conceive anthropology as co-labor, political imagination, and a practice committed to the plurality of worlds in constant reconfiguration.
