Abstract
As is known, the advent of sound recording favored the fixation and dissemination of the repertoire of popular music. Through this process, productions not written on score could be registered in cylinders, discs, CDs and digital format, which started to be commercialized on a large scale, by the phonographic industry in its various configurations. Consequently, sound recording has also made it easier to conduct research on this repertoire, so it is not difficult to see that much of the research on popular music focuses on music produced since the 20th century.
