Abstract
It is possible to perceive, in the course of the last decade, a relevant growth in the consumption of K-Pop (South Korean musical genre) at a global level, and this is no exception in the brazilian reality. Having a sensible growth, mainly among young people, the consumption of the genre ends up occupying, in many cases, a central place in the daily experience of its consumers, who start to establish contacts with other individuals who are also linked to this music, crossing their identities and modifying their life trajectories along with goals that accompany imagery linked to the genre. Based on this, this research sought to understand how this phenomenon manifests itself in the city of Curitiba, PR, Brazil, using interviews with K-Pop consumers about their previous experiences with the genre, their contact with it and their future perspectives, helping to clarify the structures that surround this experience. It was possible to realize that learning Korean, traveling to South Korea and building their identity were central aspects for the participants.
