Abstract
The year 2019 was marked by an ostensible march against science and Brazilian education. The neglect and omission of the current government compel us to begin this text by drawing attention to the risks that the war waged against teachers and researchers brings to the present and future of science in our country and, by extension, to the improvement of the quality of life of the population and the expansion of citizenship. But all was not lost in 2019. The year also marks a decade of existence of Proa: Journal of Anthropology and Art. Linked to the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the State University of Campinas, conceived as a forum for the dissemination of research and, at the same time, a space for the training of future social scientists, it is an endeavor of master's and doctoral students. Over the past ten years, the journal has established itself on the national scene as a publication focused on the dialogue and interweaving of anthropology with the theoretical contributions of other disciplines in the investigation of social dynamics coupled with expressive forms and artistic production.
