Abstract
The threads that weave together the visual experiences presented in this photo essay emerge from everyday life in Tabocal Village, in the Taquaritiua Territory of the Akroá Gamella People, in Maranhão, Brazil. On a peaceful afternoon, like so many others, the space in front of the home of the village elders, Seu Pitácio and Dona Satuca, becomes a setting for a rich repertoire of games, play activities, and toys.
