Abstract
The Amazon region has been in the centre of the international concern because it has been seen as an environmental salvation of the world. In Brazil, after the military governments, different strategic agendas appeared. However, the military concern is centred in the risk of internationalization of the region. So, this article intends to analyse the civil strategic agendas for the Amazon, showing the points in which there is proximity and differences. Methodologically, the first part of the research was the analysis of the main documents of the agendas, named: Agenda 21, the local agenda and the critical and nationalist agenda. It has also been read part of the existent bibliography about the Agenda 21 and the sustainable development. As a result, we could conclude that there is some differences in the proposals to the region.
