Abstract
The transformations in the so-called "world of work" in recent decades have sparked an increasingly vigorous academic debate at both national and international levels. The approval of the 2017 Labor Reform, the accelerated advancement of digital work platforms, and new forms of organization and control of labor activity have combined to intensify this debate, giving it an urgency that transcends the boundaries of academia. The so-called "uberization," to cite only one of its most visible aspects, has become a common reference in both public debate and government policy formulations, revealing how contemporary labor issues have the potential to mobilize very diverse perspectives, from the press to trade union federations, from the Legislative Branch to research associations.
